HMD 2011 Raphael Lemkin
On Holocaust Memorial Day 2011, the word ‘genocide’ will come up in your classroom activities again and again. Using this case study, students will uncover the Untold Story of the man who gave us the word to describe genocide. Raphael Lemkin campaigned tirelessly for a legal definition to describe the atrocities which took place in Armenia, and students will be able to use their knowledge and skills to think about what is important to them.
